Bursary Awards Update – November 2009


£210 paid to a first year student to enable him to attend a Headstart course at Newcastle University. The course enabled him to experience university life and to make decisions about his future studies.

£500 awarded to a first year student to buy components for an electronics project. The student has ambitions to attend Oxbridge. The project will enhance his applications to competitive universities.

£105 paid to a second year student to attend a First Aid course. The student is now studying Sports Therapy at university, and the First Aid course has given him a head start.

£500 to enable a talented music student to receive specialist tuition on the vibraphone.

£250 for art materials to enable a student on the Art Foundation Course to reach her potential.

£100 to allow a hard working second year student to complete an Extended Project in robotics.

£350 for art materials and books to be used by a second year student to extend her portfolio.
