About the Foundation
The Alton College Foundation, an independent registered charity, was set up in Millennium year to help the College provide facilities and equipment that could not otherwise be provided from government funds.
Despite government proclamations to the contrary, funding remains desperately tight so that even modest gifts are extremely welcome.
The Alton College Foundation seeks support from students, friends, alumni and local companies, as well as from grant-making bodies and other institutions which support educational excellence in the context of community life. The Foundation is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It is governed by a Board of Directors that includes experienced local businessmen, and is advised by its auditors and solicitors who have considerable knowledge of the further education sector.
